Sunflower Fields: Chattanooga Area Blooming Dates

Sunflowers can start blooming as early as June, but with so many different varieties, the sunflower season can last all the way into the fall.

While individual sunflowers may only bloom for a short time, succession planting helps the farms below extend their growing season.

This means multiple batches of sunflowers are sown a couple of weeks apart so that the fields will continue to have flowers in bloom throughout the farm’s open season.

While each farm has a different opening date, most of them are open for about a month, sometimes longer.
