While Chattanooga may not be known for its hefty snowfall, you can get your fill of the white stuff at one of these awesome tubing locations nearby. With less than a 4-hour drive, you can have all the winter adventure you’ve been dreaming of with just a short day trip!
1. Pigeon Forge Snow

This fun snow tubing attraction is open all year long. But, how do they do it?
Pigeon Forge Snow brings the wonder of winter indoors with a large snow machine that doesn’t use any added chemicals. The snow is completely non-toxic and made of pure water.
To tube, guests must be 3 years old and at least 38 inches tall.
After you are finished tubing, you can enjoy a great indoor snow play zone that is perfect for all ages. Even tiny tots are welcome in this area.
1 hour of tubing is $21.99. 1 hour of snow play is $7.99. A 2-hour combo pass is $26.99.
There is a snack bar on-site with grab-and-go items.
The Island is located right across the street. This popular outdoor shopping district boasts a variety of scrumptious restaurants like Margaritaville, Mellow Mushrooms Pizza, Timberwood Grill, and Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen.
A little further down the street, Blue Moose Burgers and Wings offers all your favorite American classics, including mix and match wing platters where you can choose different flavors. Yum!
2. Scaly Mountain Outdoor Center Tubing

The tubing price for guests 4 and up is $30 for a 2-hour session. The price is $15 for 2 hours on the kiddie slopes.
Annie’s Cafe is located on-site and serves sandwiches, salads, ribs, fried chicken, trout, and more!
You can also hit the town and try Bella’s Junction Cafe. This local favorite serves up scrumptious dinner platters including steak, trout, and pasta. There are also sandwiches, burgers, and entree salads.
3. Ober Gatlinburg Snow Tubing Adventure park

When it comes to Chattanooga snow tubing, Ober Gatlinburg has a lot to offer. In addition to lightning-fast lanes, there is also a huge escalator that will carry you and your tube up the snowy hill after each run.
Due to the huge amount of visitors to the Smoky Mountains each winter, wait times for entering Ober Gatlinburg can sometimes be over 2 hours. Since tubing times are reserved in advance, you will need to factor in extra time for waiting in lines.
Plan to show up early or stick around after your tubing experience to enjoy some of the other activities on top of the mountain including, ice-skating, amusement rides, a kids’ zone, shopping, skiing, and more!
The price for all guests age 5 and up is $30 on weekdays and $35 on weekends. Each tubing session is 90-minutes long. Kids ages 3 and 4 are free with a paying adult. No one under the age of 3 is allowed to ride.
